Bill
Becker was just like everyone else growing up–he never
dreamed of becoming a salesperson. His early years
centered on his love of animals and music, dreaming one
day of becoming either a veterinarian or DJ. Instead,
Bill joined his hometown radio station as an Account
Executive and started a 20-year sales career in the
radio, recruiting, and training fields.
An obvious passion for helping others
with their career goals has driven Bill to become an
expert on career development, which ultimately led to
the premise for 'sales as a career' book "The
Job Nobody Dreams Of.”
Bill Becker was one of the featured
speakers at the 2005 National Association of
Workforce Boards annual convention in Washington,
D.C. and has worked with dislocated workers during the
past five years. Bill has also worked with individuals
in Prison School, highlighting the opportunities
a sales career can offer individuals with few
significant employment options. Bill understands the
fears and challenges that people face in their search
for MEANINGFUL employment and his message is the product
of years of experience.
Bill also publishes a monthly
newsletter, "Becker's Human Capital" which
highlights ideas and best practices in finding,
motivating, and training today's top employees.
His passions outside of work include:
His wife and 5 sons, The Dallas Mavericks, Weight
Lifting and listening to the Goo Goo Dolls:
